5 Steps to a Perfect Tan

1. Begin off with a set of old clothes. Even if the bottle states that there are no coloring ingredients, chances are that a self tanner will stain. So grab some ratty clothes to wear during the two hours or so you should wait to get dressed.

2. Lock yourself in the bathroom with all the supplies you'll require for your self tan :

* Exfoliating cloth or pouf

* Your self tanner (of course)

* Disposable latex gloves

* Hair clips

* A roller paintbrush for your back (optional)

* An old towel

You'll also require access to a clock so you can time your self tanner just correct.

3. Take a hot shower to remove any residue or grime and all dry skin. Exfoliate well with a body pouf or scrubber- just try to be sure not to injure your skin. Merely scrub gently (but not too gently) in a circular motion to remove any dead skin. Open the bathroom door to let all the steam out, and dry your skin as well as you can.

4. Apply a very light layer of oil free moisturizer into your knees, elbows, and ankles. This helps to keep the self-tanner from oversaturating these areas, making them darker than the surrounding skin. You don't want to look like you've been crawling around in the mud!

5. Sit or stand on an old towel and start by applying your self tanner to your legs initial. If you don't self-tan often, start in a little region to get a feel for how a lot to apply and how to blend. Apply a nice, even coating to most of your skin, applying the self tanner a bit much more thinly on feet and ankles.
